Day 1: Calgary - Banff (75 miles)
From Calgary drive to Banff for a 2 night stay.
Day 2: Banff
In Banff town you’ll find lots of excitement - shopping, cafés, nightlife, museums. Check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Banff Gondola where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs.
Day 3: Banff - Lake Louise (38 miles)
Travel along the lovely Bow Valley Parkway on a leisurely drive to Lake Louise, visiting Johnston Canyon Waterfall and enjoying the many scenic lookouts along the way. Continue to Lake Louise, the “Jewel of the Rockies”; the most famous glacial lake in the Canadian Rockies.
Day 4: Lake Louise - Jasper (129 miles)
On today's journey you travel through the spine of the Canadian Rockies along the amazing Icefield Parkway with its entralling scenery, wildlife and waterfalls. At the Columbia Icefield you can ride onto the Athabasca Glacier on board an Ice Explorer before continuing your journey to Jasper.
Day 5: Jasper
Explore this charming mountain village; take a tram ride up Whistlers mountain, or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world.
Day 6: Jasper - Rocky Mountaineer - Kamloops
Today you join the famous Rocky Mountaineer for one of the World's great rail journeys passing through the amazing scenery that was once the route of the early fur traders on your journey to Kamloops where you stay overnight.
Day 7: Kamloops - Rocky Mountaineer - Vancouver
Leaving Kamloops you will follow the Thompson River to the Fraser Canyon, where at Hells Gate watch water torrent past the canyon walls at its narrowest point. The last leg of the journey takes you through the fertile farming region of the Fraser Valley to arrive in the Pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon.
Day 8: Vancouver
You can now extend your trip with a few days in Vancouver, join an Alaskan cruise, or go in search of the famous Canadian Grizzly Bears..
